Bandplan (bandplan.shop) is an independent blog about shortwave listening. This page explains, in plain language, what information this site collects and how it is used.

What we collect

This site does not require an account to read. We collect only what is naturally involved in serving pages and running the newsletter sign-up form found on the home page:

  • Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure keeps basic technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and requested page) for security and troubleshooting. These logs are not used to build advertising profiles.
  • Newsletter sign-up. If you submit the email form on the home page, that address is stored so we can send the occasional note described on the page. Submitting the form also sets a small local marker in your browser to prevent the confirmation message from reappearing on every visit.
  • No account data. We do not operate user accounts, comment systems, or profile pages on this site.

Cookies and local storage

This site uses local browser storage only for the newsletter confirmation state described above. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

How information is used

Email addresses collected through the newsletter form are used only to send the note described on that form. We do not sell, rent, or trade this information to third parties.

How long we keep it

Newsletter addresses are kept until you ask to be removed. Server logs are retained for a limited period for operational and security purposes and then routinely cleared.

Your choices

You can ask to be removed from the newsletter list at any time, and you can ask what information, if any, we hold about your email address. Write to the contact address below and we will act on the request.

Children

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will change to reflect it.
