Bandplan is a log, kept by people who tune, not a publication that sells anything
Bandplan started as a shared notebook at one receiver desk and grew into a small site because the notebook kept getting long enough to be worth organizing. It is still, at heart, a log: dated entries about what came through a length of wire strung across an ordinary yard, written up honestly enough that they would still be useful to read back in a year.
We do not sell radios, antennas, or subscriptions. The only product mentioned on this site is Bandlog, a logging app built by the same small group, and even that page is written to explain what it does rather than to push anyone toward it.
Who keeps the log
Bandplan is edited by a small, informal team who share access to one listening post and split the writing between them:
- R. Halden — keeps the propagation and grayline notes, and maintains the band table on the home page.
- M. Odera — writes most of the antenna and receiver pieces, usually after a weekend of retuning something.
- S. Voss — handles the logbook and QSL-card entries, and answers correspondence sent to the address below.
None of the three claims to be an expert beyond what a few years at one desk teaches. Where a note in an article turned out to be wrong, we say so in a follow-up rather than quietly editing the original away.
Content policy
Every article on this site describes something one of us actually logged, built, or tried. We do not publish sponsored posts, and we do not accept payment in exchange for a mention of a product, station, or club. If that ever changes, this page will say so plainly.
Numbers on this site are described the way a log describes them — as what was observed on a given night, not as a guaranteed outcome for anyone else's antenna, location, or radio. Propagation varies by season, geography, and solar activity, and we try to say "tends to" rather than promise anything.
Corrections
If you notice a frequency, date, or fact that looks wrong, we would rather hear about it than leave it standing. Corrections are noted at the bottom of the affected article once verified.
